In-town Victorians, Fox Point colonials, estates past the village line

Happy Maids has cleaned houses in Barrington, IL — ZIPs 60010 and 60011 — since 1985, and our office sits ten minutes up the road in Lake Barrington, so this has never been a town we drive out to. Start with the water, because everyone here already knows about it: the Village pumps its own supply, and it comes out of the ground at roughly 23 grains per gallon — extremely hard by any standard. That's the chalky film that returns to shower glass, chrome, and stainless within days of a wipe-down, so we work at those surfaces every visit with standard supplies instead of buffing over them. In the townhomes at Arbors at Barrington, square footage is modest but the stairs and entries absorb every bit of the traffic.

Seasonally, the trails at the Barrington Park District's Citizens Park run right into the Cuba Marsh preserve, and that marsh mud comes home on boots and paws for weeks — which is why back halls and entry rugs are on our list, not an afterthought. And most Barrington clients aren't home when we arrive: they're on an early train out of the UP-NW station or in a Barrington 220 pickup line.
