What’s the difference between Happy Maids and other cleaning services?

Happy Maids is a local, family-owned business providing over 30 years of service. We know that there are a lot of cleaning services to choose from. What sets Happy Maids apart the most is our customizability. We understand that each home is as unique as each of our customers. We will work with you to create a cleaning solution that works best for you and your home. And we do this without locking you into a contract, giving you the freedom to adjust your service at any time. We are confident that our flexibility and commitment to you, paired with our attention to detail, will keep you a part of our happy family.

What cleaning packages do you offer?

We offer a maintenance cleaning, basic cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/out cleaning and post construction cleaning. Every clean can be customized to fit your home and needs. Check out what is typically included in each service here: Cleaning Packages

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies?

Happy Maids teams come equipped with cleaning supplies (cleaners, vacuums, and cleaning rags) for each job. If you prefer any specialty cleaners to be used, you may provide them for your team (just let the office know). If you have any questions about the cleaning products or equipment we use, call the office at 847-382-0082 (M-F 8:30 AM-4:30 PM)

How do I make a booking?

Call us in the office at 847-382-0082 (M-F 8:30 AM-4:30 PM) or use our online booking option.

Why do I have to start with a deep cleaning?

Happy Maids always wants to start off on the right foot. We typically recommend that you start with a deep clean if you are new to Happy Maids or if you haven’t had a service in over two months. A deep clean will bring your home up to the Happy Maids standard of clean that we can then maintain.

Can I request special tasks or extras?

Happy Maids is always happy to go the extra mile for you. If you’re not sure whether we provide a service, just ask! Additional tasks you may request include:

  • Washing linens (time permitted)
  • Inside refrigerator cleaning
  • Inside oven cleaning
  • Interior window washing (within reach while using company provided step ladder)
  • Folding laundry
  • Washing inside cabinets (cabinets empty)
  • Load dishwasher (sink full)
  • Vacuum inside sofa

How do I prepare for the cleaning?

There are a few things you can do to prepare your home for your cleaning professionals to do their magic and get the most out of your service.

  • Before your team arrives, remove clutter to allow them to get right down to business. Clutter includes kid’s toys, laundry, piles of items on the floor, and piles of papers.
  • If you have chosen to exclude dishwashing from your service, please empty the sink of dirty dishes.
  • Leave out clean bed sheets if you would like them changed.
  • We love pets and are happy to work around them. Please notify the office of all pets. If visitors make them nervous, we ask that you secure them in a safe and comfortable place during your service.
  • If you plan to be away during the house cleaning, make sure the office has access to an entry key, garage code, and/or alarms.

What days do you work?

Our maids work Monday through Friday 7:00 AM-5:00 PM. You can reach us in the office Monday through Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

What time will you arrive?

Please allow a one-hour arrival window for your team.

How far in advance do I need to book my cleaning?

We typically need a few day’s notice to book an appointment. If you need a last minute cleaning, don’t hesitate to give us a call and we’ll do our best to get you scheduled. Around major holidays, our schedule fills up quickly. We recommend getting scheduled two weeks before major holidays for the best chance at guaranteeing your spot.

How can I request an invoice?

Email with your information and service details for a copy of your invoice. You may also provide us your email by calling the office at 847-382-0082 (M-F 8:30 AM-4:30 PM)

Do you send an individual or a team of maids?

We typically work in teams of two. Occasionally, our maids may work individually or in a team of three.

Pricing & Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

We require schedule changes to be made 2 full business days in advance.

CANCELLATION & SKIP FEE: In the event that you cancel or skip scheduled cleaning you will be assessed a $25 skip fee. If you cancel service with less than 2 full business days’ notice or day of service, you will still be charged the 50% amount of the cleaning visit or $150 whichever is greater, and no reschedule will be due.

LOCKOUT FEE: If the team is unable to enter your home (double-bolt locks, animals not contained, or are turned away at the door) there will be a lockout fee assessed to equal the regular cleaning price.

This charge is to compensate our maids for the time they were promised to work.

How do you determine rates?

For first time service like Deep cleanings, move in and move outs and Deep Cleaning service, we charge hourly and pro-rate for every ten minutes. For maintenance services set up weekly, bi-weekly or monthly our rates are determined by areas of the home we are cleaning (bedrooms, bathrooms, basement, square footage) wood floors vs carpeting, pets vs no pets, picked up home vs needs some extra help with picking up prior to starting our cleaning. Rates for maintenance service are set rates. Some might exclude cleaning some bedrooms, not cleaning a basement. All homes are very different!

Do you offer discounts or specials?

Customers with regularly scheduled services receive their cleaning at a discounted rate. Compared to as-needed service, monthly clients receive a 10% discount, bi-weekly 15%, and weekly 20%.

Am I stuck in a contract?

Happy Maids creates contract-free relationships with our customers.

How do I make a payment? Am I supposed to tip?

We require a credit card on file for all first-time appointments. You have the option to pay by cash, check, or credit card. Credit cards are charged after service is complete. Checks and cash payments are due immediately upon completion of service.

Tips are never expected but always appreciated. Tips can be given in cash, or check, or can be added to your credit card payment. To add a tip to your credit card payment, please call the office at 847-382-0082.

Why do you need my credit card information?

Your billing information is required to reserve your appointment. Your credit card will be pre-authorized when you book an appointment, but you will not be charged until the appointment is completed. Your credit card will not be charged if you pay in cash or by check. Cash or check payments must be received by your team at the time of your appointment.

Do you offer gift certificates?

A clean home is a gift that everyone can appreciate. Gift certificates can be purchased online by visiting our Gift Cards page If help is needed, call us in the office at 847-382-0082 (M-F 8:30 AM-4: 30 PM).

Trust & Safety

Do you have insurance?

Happy Maids is fully insured and bonded for your protection and ours. Insurance confirmation and details are available upon request.

Is my billing information kept safe and secure?

Absolutely. Once your credit card information is entered into our system, the data is no longer viewable, even to Happy Maids office staff. Only the last four digits of the credit card number show anywhere in our system.

Do your employees go through a background check?

Each Happy Maids employee is background checked before being hired.

Do I need to be home for the cleaning?

We don’t mind one way or the other! If you need to be out and about that day, just be sure to provide specific entry instructions to avoid a lock-out fee (a lock-out is treated as a cancellation). We can store your key in our office safe so that we can access your home each visit.

What is your double satisfaction guarantee?

We want you to be totally thrilled with our service. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied, contact us as soon as possible and we will come back and rectify the problem for free! If we are unable to resolve the issue, we will give you a full refund.

How can I be sure you will provide quality service?

Our business thrives on making our customers happy and we stick to our satisfaction guarantee. Our maids are all professionally trained and take pride in the work they do, knowing how important a clean home is to your health (and your sanity). Homes also receive random quality inspections by a Happy Maids Supervisor.

What if something was missed and I am unhappy with a cleaning?

In the instance that you are not 100% satisfied, contact us as soon as possible and we will come back and rectify the problem for free! If we are unable to resolve the issue, we will give you a full refund.

What if something valuable was broken when the maids cleaned my home?

Our maids always treat your home with care and respect. In the instance that there is an accident, contact us in the office at 847-382-0082 (M-F 8:30 AM-4:30 PM) as soon as possible and Happy maids will work with you to resolve the situation.

Booking a Service

When I book an appointment will I receive a confirmation?

Yes! You will receive an email with a summary of your booking details. We will contact you as soon as possible during business hours to confirm your appointment.

What if I don’t want to book online?

If online booking isn’t for you or you would like a more customized clean, talk directly to a Happy Maids representative by calling 847 382 0082 Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 4:30. You can also email for a quote.

How do I know what type of service I need?

  • Moving to a new home- You need a move in cleaning service
  • Moving out of a home- You need a move out cleaning service
  • Home remodeling projects completed- You need a Post construction service
  • Some minor painting projects completed- You need a Deep Cleaning service
  • In-Laws coming to visit- You need a Deep cleaning service
  • Looking for a new maintenance service- If it has been over 2 months since your last cleaning you will need to get started with a Deep Cleaning service, than we can get you all set for weekly, bi-weekly or monthly services.
