Happy Maids has cleaned houses in Hoffman Estates — ZIPs 60010, 60067, 60169 and 60192 — since 1985, from our office in Lake Barrington. Inside the village the water is municipal and has been since December 1985: Lake Michigan water bought from Chicago, so there is no iron, no orange ring in the toilet and no well smell. What it leaves instead, at roughly eight grains, is a light calcium film on shower glass, chrome and faucet bases — a different problem, and one that comes off a layer at a time over several visits, using nothing harsh enough to etch the glass.

This is one of the widest towns we serve — 21.25 square miles, some nine miles east to west — and the housing changes as you cross it. Out west in 60192, around Prairie Stone, the houses are 1990s and 2000s — more bathrooms, more hard surface, more square footage.

The Village keeps over 17,000 publicly owned trees and has already taken out more than 6,000 ash. The Silver Maple Program is the next wave — about 500 removed in 2024 and 400 in 2025 — so on most blocks the work is either coming, happening, or a year behind you. Stump-grinding dust is fine and pale and keeps drifting indoors for days, landing on sills and trim tops first. Add salt off 161 center lane miles of plowed street and the entries carry the rest. The two ZIPs sit twenty-plus minutes apart in traffic, so we route the east and west halves separately and work on coded or keyed access with the same background-checked team whenever we can.
