My house is on a slab with the heat in the floor. Does that change how you clean it?
Yes, in three practical ways. There is no basement to absorb clutter, so surfaces are fuller than the square footage suggests and more objects get moved. Flooring over concrete holds humidity at the perimeter, so closet floors, baseboards and the trim behind furniture get real attention. And the air conditioning went in later through the ceiling and soffits, which puts supply registers high on walls — dust drifts down onto trim instead of dropping into a floor return, so we dust down the wall, not just across the furniture.
Why is my shower glass cloudy in Schaumburg when the water is supposed to be good?
Lake Michigan water is clean but still moderately hard, around 8 grains per gallon, and Schaumburg has been on it since 1988. Hardness plus soap leaves a cloudy film on glass and spots on chrome and stainless.
